Earth holidays don't seem strange or foreign to me anymore. Last weekend was "Mother's Day", and celebrating it didn't seem weird at all-- it was normal, even though we didn't have anything like it in the Fire Nation.

You could make the argument that I've been here for too long, but I'm still not convinced it's a bad thing.

I find that even simple and small things, or particularly normal things like holidays, aren't often what they seem and can lead to some sort of interesting experience.

It is a nice chance to do something for my mom, since she lives sort of far away.

I agree. Some Earth holidays I find pointless, but this one isn't so bad.

Oh I agree. It shouldn't be used as an excuse to spend the rest of the year being unappreciative. But it's still nice to have the excuse to go that little bit extra.

Yes. We went to the beach. Last year we went to a spa.

That's another great thing about Mother's Day - it's a chance to actually spend time with your mom.

You do things with them, mostly. Pay attention to them. I'm not really sure why they have a separate day for it when you should really be paying attention to them every day, but apparently it's important here.
