Earth holidays don't seem strange or foreign to me anymore. Last weekend was "Mother's Day", and celebrating it didn't seem weird at all-- it was normal, even though we didn't have anything like it in the Fire Nation.

You could make the argument that I've been here for too long, but I'm still not convinced it's a bad thing.

Well as our holidays go, Mother's Day's not a bad one to pick up.

I agree. Some Earth holidays I find pointless, but this one isn't so bad.

I still like appreciating mine every day, though.

Oh I agree. It shouldn't be used as an excuse to spend the rest of the year being unappreciative. But it's still nice to have the excuse to go that little bit extra.

So, how did you celebrate? Did your mom enjoy it?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2011-05-11 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. We went to the beach. Last year we went to a spa.

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-11 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that sounds nice.

That's another great thing about Mother's Day - it's a chance to actually spend time with your mom.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2011-05-11 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, she works a lot. But weekends are generally less busy for her.

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-11 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like my mom. Or, well, I guess that's how it still is.

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Mhm. She owns an art gallery, too.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you have classes with her?

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I don't. Which is probably better for the both of us.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean. During one of the viruses when mine was still here, we were all transplanted into a high schol and she was my health teacher.

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay yeah, that would be a whole lot worse. At least it was just a virus?

aaaaa accidentally skipped this notif

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Thankfully. During it I ended up skipping that class.

No worries :)

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't say I blame you for that one.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think anyone in their right mind could.

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I can think of one or two. But for the most part, I think people would agree with you.

[identity profile] emberandash.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Especially high-school age kids.

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. Health's bad enough as it is.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm glad I never had to actually take it.

[identity profile] littlemissaria.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh you didn't? They don't teach health in your world, during...I guess school? Or the equivalent?
