I'm simply highlighting his lack of intelligence by pointing out that the smart thing to do would be to eliminate me, so that there would be no chance of me rightfully taking back the throne.

My own father is the Emperor, but we do not count such things that way. I will be Emperor after him by the will of the people, and for no other reason. But other kingdoms in Ivalice go through familial succession.

Well, then that is good. I think I would find it disturbing if one of my dead brothers joined the community, and claimed to be Emperor, myself. But people react to things differently.
