I'm still having less nightmares, but not yet none at all. They're still there, in the background, trying to get through. Last night I slept in my bed in the other room and accidentally left the sleep satchel in Lisa's bed, and they were back in full force.

Maybe they're never going to go away.

Well, because we have to toss out anything that doesn't get sold at the end of the day, and I'd rather just give it to someone who might like it...

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
... You want to give something to me? But you don't even know me.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I don't. But I think good food has a way of bringing people together, don't you?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. It's just food.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. But I put a lot of heart into what I do! If my bread and cakes can put a smile on someone's face, then all the hard work I put into baking it was well worth the effort. Food nourishes, but I think it should also be enjoyed, too.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if it's all right with you, I could send you some of the leftovers from the shop today. Since you don't have a particular preference, I'll let you sample some of our more popular breads and cakes.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
... All right.

I can give them to my mom, too.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, by all means. I'd love it if you shared with your family. Like I said, good food has a way of bringing people together.

If you like tea, I've been working on making some tea cakes. They're not as popular as most of the breads, so I'm sure we'll have plenty to give out at the end of the day.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I do, too. Not everyday, of course. But it's a lot more than most people could afford around here, so we were lucky to even have the option of drinking it.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe not for you, but for a lot of people in the Seam, it is. It's not uncommon to see people starving in the streets. That's why I make it a point not to waste even a single loaf of bread because I know there's someone out there who could really use it.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
So why don't you give it to them instead of people on the community?

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I do, trust me! But I have so much surplus for ingredients that I really don't know what to do with it all. That's why I figured that maybe I could give a little bit to people on the community.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
... All right.

Do you want tea in exchange or something?

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
If you'd like to give me some, I'd be more than happy to receive it. I know a few people who really like mint tea, too.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'll ask Lisa which kinds she wants to give away.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'd like that a lot, thanks.

By the way, my name's Peeta. What's yours?

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
That's a pretty name. It reminds me of a flower, for some reason...

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'm named for my grandfather, Azulon. He was a Fire Lord too.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
That's nice. I'm just named after a type of bread... My brothers, too. Not all that imaginative, I know.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
That's a silly thing to name heirs after.

[identity profile] tasty-tribute.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I guess Mom and Dad figured we'd all be bakers, just like them. And we are. It's either that or work in the coal mines, and no one really enjoys that sort of work.
