(no subject)

Strangely enough, one of the only things I'm bringing back from the Fire Nation today is lots and lots of tea-- jasmine and ginseng mostly, but also White Dragon and lychee, which no other worlds but ours seem to have. The tea on the world I'm staying on now is quite strange. It comes in either packets or little bags. It's not bad, but it can't compare to fresh tea leaves. The people here really don't know what they're missing.

Is there anything in particular that you want from home? I can bring it to you.

The meeting went very well-- and the capital looks spectacular once again. While I still very much wish I could return home for good and help win the war, I trust that you remember our history, and understand why I am unable to do so.

Nevertheless, I look forward to leading us into further greatness once victory is achieved.

I agree.

Is fresh tea more common in Japan?

[identity profile] heavenly-home.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it is. We have a ceremony devoted to making it, even.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that related to some sort of holiday, or do you just perform the ceremony every time you make tea?

[identity profile] heavenly-home.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a discipline. Simply a part of our culture.

There is a certain etticate to making tea, but one does not need use the tea ceremonies.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I see.

[identity profile] heavenly-home.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It's quite a beautiful thing to watch. I do not know it, however.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Then it's complicated?

[identity profile] heavenly-home.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Very.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, Tea. God bless the small pleasures.

You are back home, how so?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It's called worldhopping? You may have heard of it.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Tea made with lychee nuts. Does your world have them?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't consider myself an enthusiast.

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You should be able to find loose leaf at specialty stores, even if you're in the West. Or mail order, if you're really isolated.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't need to use the mail system. I can just worldhop.

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ordering on the Internet seems like it would be less effort.

[identity profile] autobot-girl.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
There's white tea here. Is that like that White Dragon tea stuff?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Less effort than worldhopping? Hardly.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't know. Where's "here"?

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
If you say so.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you ever actually worldhopped anywhere? It takes less than a minute.

He simply does not understand how switching universes could be more convenient than the Internet.

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I'm new.

But then you have to go find your tea on the other side, don't you?

[identity profile] autobot-girl.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I'm in Detroit but White Tea is imported from China. Does that tell you anything?

Ahaha

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Clearly.

I'd find out where to get it first.
